Arcade racers for when you've got five minutes

Arcade racers for when you've got five minutes

Sometimes you don't want a deep game. You want thirty seconds of speed and a satisfying drift, then to put the phone away. Arcade racers are perfect for that, and the offline ones are underrated.

Neon Drift Circuit is my go-to right now. The controls are dead simple, the tracks are short, and beating your own best lap is the whole hook. No story to follow, no menus to wade through.

What I look for is instant restart. Crash, tap, and you're racing again within a second. Anything that makes you sit through a load screen between attempts kills the momentum.

Offline is a bonus that a lot of racers actually get right, since the single-player content doesn't need servers. Just make sure the car and track unlocks are progression-based, not time-gated.

Keep one of these installed for the moments you're standing in a queue. It's the mobile equivalent of an arcade cabinet in your pocket.
